Lovely, circa 1770, French woven silk damask in a set medallion layout. Both original selvedges are attached and note old blue lines vertically along the length of selvedge. This is a light weight woven silk and has a textual feel to it so guessing either a "raw" silk or it is mixed with something. When held up to light, otherwise invisible, sewing needle size holes can be seen where someone salvaged this exquisite piece and I have left a few of the tan original silk threads to study.
There is a tiny hand sewn bottom hem. It is in strong condition. If you have any questions about this piece, please do not hesitate to ask. This item is in the category "Collectibles\Linens & Textiles\Fabrics".
