Antique 19thC Sevres Porcelain Bust Patrice de Mac Mahon Porzellan Bueste French
A large biscuit figural bust of Patrice de Mac-Mahon, First Duke of Magenta and first president of the Third Republic of France, made by Sevres in 1874. The bust is made of unglazed bisque or biscuit porcelain and is extremely well modeled with lots of superb details. He is shown in his full military regalia including the Order of the Legion of Honor Grand Cross. A hard to find and stunning piece and the blue ground colored base with the gold trim only brings it out even more. The piece is in superb condition with a few black firing lines from the manufacturing process normal to these large early pieces.

The bust is marked on the back by his shoulders with the impressed Sevres mark as well as the letter D 74.11 or something along those lines. The base has the red gilder's mark including the year mark 74 in a circle, the green S. Mark in an oval and two painter's marks as well as the usual incised marks one finds on Sevres pieces of this period. The figurine is 14 inches tall, about 11.5 inches wide and 6.5 inches deep. 19th century Figure Figurine Büste Figur France.
