A really nice figural bust made in France in the later 19th century. The piece is made from unglazed or biscuit porcelain which is typical for these French makers. The date is 1873 as far as I can tell. The bust is of a lady wearing a nice top with her hair flowing down her shoulders.
Her cleavage and hair is covered with cattails so I assume she is either meant to represent Flora or Fauna. The bust has a nice base with a turquoise and purple section with gilded sections in between. Some one added a wooden base to the figure later to give her more stability which was a good move since she is still in superb condition!
Only issue is the back corners of the base have a tiny nibble to them but they are probably original to the piece and very very minor. The figurine is 11.25 inches tall including the base, 5.75 inches wide and 4.5 inches deep.
