Antique 18thC Italian / French Porcelain Chocolate Pot Porzellan Kanne Vinovo

A very good quality hot chocolate pot made in Italy or France in the 18th century. When I first bought it I though that decoration looks Italian but I could not think of a maker that had pieces like this. So I figured it was probably French in origin. Now that I did some research I did find similar pieces by a maker named Vinovo so I might have been right to begin with.

I could only find a few pieces but there are some hot chocolate pots like this one. It's too rare a maker if it's Italian and all the pics in my books are black and white. So maybe an expert on that subject sees this and can give me their opinion.

Either way it is a nicely made piece that is superbly hand painted with a scene that goes most of the way around including a guy fishing, some buildings and the usual greenery. A bit of gold trim to the top and along the side of the spout to hide firing flaws there. It has a handle to one side made of probably silver and wood. The piece displays nicely but is missing its lid, the handle was probably the wood attached to a piece of porcelain jutting out from the main pot which had been damaged and the silver collar took care of that and there is a firing crack to one side of the spout covered with gilding and a hairline to the other. Obviously a weak spot in the design. The piece is unmakred except for an impressed letter P as shown. It is just over 6 inches tall and about 4 inches in diameter with the handle sticking out 4.5 inches. Not without its flaws but still a really nice piece and hot chocolate pots of this caliber are rare. If you like my goodies have a look at my other auctions for a lot more top maker pieces like Sevres, KPM and so on. Photos are part of the description - if you need others just let me know exactly what you are looking for and I'll take care of it speedily!
