Antique 18thC French Porcelain Marseilles Cup & Saucer Porcelaine Tasse France. This product data sheet is originally written in English.
A cup and saucer made in France in the late 18th century by Marseille which was founded by Joseph - Gaspard Robert as a faience factory. It is hand painted with a nice larger floral arrangement as well as lots of smaller flowers and a gold trim. The cup is marked underneath with a blue L mark but the guy I bought it from also had another set with the JR mark more typical of this maker. The set is in good condition with a little wear to the gold trim and some firing flaws on the underside of the cup. Also a chip to the bottom cup rim but it was painted over with a leaf and is thus from the making! The cup measures 2.5 inches tall and the same in diameter and the saucer is 1.125 inches tall and 4.75 inches in diameter.
