Antique 18thC Blanc de Chine Soft Paste Porcelain Figure Figurine French France. This product data sheet is originally written in English. An interesting figurine most likely made in France or possibly Italy and definitely in the 18th century. Sevres might be a candidate or Le Nove or Doccia? Originally this figure was modeled by Acier for the top German maker and is called "The Broken Eggs" as well as "The Lost innocence" and also "The Panderer". What makes this piece so interesting is that it was not done by the top German maker but was copied by another maker early on or did Acier copy it from this piece??

Not that this was not a fairly common practice but this figurine was done in soft paste porcelain so there are very few choices as to who could have done it. The figure is copied fairly accurately but some of the details are missing like the floral garland the lady would normally be holding, the eggs that normally spill out of the basket on the ground and the bow that is normally behind the little cupid on the ground. Otherwise it is very similar.

The details are not as good around the base. Just a very interesting piece to try to figure out who made it. The figurine is of a young lady that is being consoled by an elderly lady next to her with the cupid in front of them and a putto hiding in the skirt of the young lady. The figure is 8.375 inches tall, 6 inches wide and 4.25 inches deep.

Unmarked which makes it a bit more interesting and complicated. The piece displays nicely but is damaged. The elderly lady is missing her right hand and has a break to the wrist of her left hand.

The young lady has a break across her torso and around her neck as shown. Nothing super terrible and a good restorer could easily bring them back to perfection.
